AKC ® Canine Good Citizen


AKC Canine Good Citizen Package is a certification program designed to reward dogs who have good manners at home and in the community. The Canine Good Citizen Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test will receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club. Visit for more information on CGC. 

Our CGC package includes five 1 hour sessions in your home or community OR three 1 hour sessions for those who have completed Level One Obedience.  Canine Good Citizen testing occurs during the final session and testing price is included in rate. Package also includes one year of follow up email, Skype, FaceTime or WhatsApp support.

Course will cover the following in preparation for the CGC certification test:
• Accepting a Friendly Stranger
• Sitting Politely for Petting
• Appearance and Grooming
• Out for a Walk (Walking on a Loose Leash)
• Walking Through a Crowd
• Sit and Down on Command/ Staying in Place
• Coming When Called
• Reaction to Another Dog
• Reaction to Distractions
• Supervised Separation
• The CGC Responsible Dog Owner’s Pledge

Prerequisites and Requirements
Owners should feel confident their dog has the ability to listen and work in a public space. While not required, completion of a basic obedience course prior to enrollment in the CGC Package is strongly recommended.

Cost: $500 for five one hour sessions.  Payment plans available.

Nutritional consulting and meal plan development: Navigate the daunting world of dog food and choose the best fuel for your friend! We’ll discuss your dog’s nutritional needs, their personal preferences, the canine digestive system and what additional foods or supplements to keep your bud feeling their best!
